“Sitri? Agh…I was hoping you wouldn’t ask me about her. To be entirely honest with you Professor…I don’t know anything about her. She’s from a small noble family in Leicester, and…that’s about it. She goes out of her way to not interact with other students, or anyone really. No matter how much we try…well. That’s alright, I guess.”
— Claude’s introduction to Byleth
Sitri was born into a small noble family in the Leicester Alliance, with a crest, but not in a family large enough to have a seat at the table. Since she ended up being the only child, her parents sought out other Crest bearing children in an attempt to bolster the family name and get them a higher spot on the map.
After joining Garreg Mach, Sitri could reportedly be considered...absent. In her studies, she more than excelled, with a hidden proficiency in swordsmanship. But she stayed far away from her classmates in fear word traveled back home and they were suddenly viewed as prospective marriage opportunities. While a few (namely Claude, schemer) attempted to speak with her, she either avoided entirely, or didn't provide more than a word or two. Sitri merely wants to graduate without her parents viewing her classmates as potential marriage prospects. The noble simple does as she’s asked, keeps her head down, and tries not to interact with anyone else to the best of her ability.
She later laments having her family have so much control over her actions and emotions, breaking free during the way to build relationships without fear of her family’s meddling or persecution. Although she’s not very expressive, it’s mainly due to her not knowing how to be. Occasionally you’ll see her crack a smile, or even rarely laugh, but even less so will you see anger poised on her face, even during the most fierce of battles.
When the school was attacked, shut down, and promises were made to return...many figured she wouldn't return.
She did. Well, return is...kind. After being mortified of a marriage prospect(sold), Sitri returned to Garreg Mach with the promise in mind, much to her classmates surprise. While her personality didn't change much, she did start to try and be better of a friend, and warrior, and classmate to her fellow students.
...and, with a specific fellow classmate in mind.
Rumors started to buzz after the war that she was seen whispering with Claude often, before she returned to her family. Shortly after she came back to finalize assistance, word spread the head of her household had mysteriously passed, a potential byproduct of the war and raids. What is well known, though, is the works of a famous artist who made the famous piece, 'The Smiling Saint', seemed to bear a similar resemblance to her.
At her days at the Academy, not much could be known about Sitri. While she did fine in her classes, she opted to keep to herself, avoiding her classmates and some faculty as she deemed necessary. Even Claude’s attempts and schemes to get closer to her never seemed to work. Reserved, but not shy, quiet, but not withdrawn. After the academy falls into disarray, the Golden Deer get the opportunity to see their not so standalone classmate shine. Quick witted but cautious, patient and determined. Sitri doesn’t dislike being on the battlefield, but would put herself in harms way if it means protecting her fellow allies.
